Even about that Person(s) of the Year
Time Magazine announces the person who changed the world every year. This year the honor goes to the #metoo movement, which outs the Harvey Weinsteins on this planet. It was high time this happened.
Time's editor-in-chief Edward Felsenthal puts it beautifully: “The #metoo discussion has caused the fastest social change in decades and was initiated by the courage of various women and men.” Are you curious who is in second place? The current president of America, Donald Trump. Because he changed pretty much all the conditions for becoming president. Or at least the prevailing rules.
It feels a bit awkward, that number one and two. Due to the accusations that number two received multiple times from number one. Let's be honest: many women accused Donald of unwanted advances. It makes sense that both are chosen, because yes, they have changed the conditions in the world. But still, it rubs the wrong way and not in a very pleasant manner.
