Kiki Düren

Hey girls. Should I also tell the story behind the photos for the Look of the Day? Here it comes. I walked outside with Theo yesterday to shoot this look. Under the eye was a small wallet, so Mrs. ‘impulsive purchase’ Céline came in handy. I’m not even ready for my photo yet (smile on the just-not-in-pain-in-the-jaw mode à la Sylvie Meis, chest out, upper arm hidden somewhere) and Theo is already clicking. Well damn.

Just between you and me, that’s the secret of photographers, right? The in-between shots are the coolest. The photos where you actually don’t feel ready at all, where you might just be doing your hair up or down. Two seconds later he shouts: ‘LOOK ON FLEEK! THAT GLASSES! CHECK MY FIRST PHOTO!“ And damn it, the man is right. If you have a bad hair day, pull out your Céline and, bam, it suddenly looks good. These glasses don’t deserve to be labeled as an impulsive purchase anymore. In fact: Céline might just be the best purchase of the last quarter. Okay, except for this bag that.

‘How cute is this La Trût sweater?’

Now let’s talk about my new favorite sweater. Have you seen the ‘Trut’ sweaters from 9 Lemons? Probably. This is a new variant of it. In collaboration with the label Breizh World (known for the iconic Breton stripe), the brand made a limited edition ‘La Trût’ sweater, against the dulling of society. It has stretch, so that upper arm can breathe AND it’s a real compliment catcher, just like the bag from Marc Cain by the way.

Finally, the bottom: the skirt is an oldie from Zara (the shoes are too by the way), which I would like to say is nice but yikes, that thing is even more static than the hair of an average professor in a cartoon. So here’s my tip: if you buy a new long skirt at Zara, check in the fitting room right away if it crackles or not and otherwise: HANG IT BACK VERY quickly and run.
