Make the 3 most delicious iced teas yourself
Hey, I don't know if you've seen it yet, but the summer is on its way again, you know. And on such a warm summer day, we get thirsty. Water gets boring, I don't like fizzy drinks, and yes, I also prefer to open my favorite Chardonnay around one o'clock. But hey, there are limits. Pull that barbecue out of the shed, rally your friends, and roll up your sleeves. These iced teas will cool you down in the coming days. Double the portions and you'll always have a nice refreshing drink in the house. And uh, after four o'clock, you can just add a splash of vodka...
1. Watermelon-mint
- Half a watermelon, cut into pieces
- 5 bags of black tea
- 1.5 liters of water
- 3 tablespoons of honey or maple syrup
- A handful of mint leaves
- A few sprigs of mint for garnish
- Put the watermelon in a blender and blend until you get a smooth mixture.
- Strain the juice through a sieve so you only have clear juice left.
- Put the watermelon juice in the refrigerator.
- Bring a liter of water to a boil and let the tea bags steep.
- Add some honey and the mint leaves to the tea and let it cool down.
- Combine the tea with the watermelon juice and keep it cool.
- Serve with ice and a sprig of mint.
2. Elderflower-lemon tea
- 1.5 liters of water
- 5 bags of green tea
- Juice of 5 lemons
- Splash of elderflower syrup
- A few sprigs of lemon balm
- Lemon for garnish
- Boil the water and add the tea bags.
- Let the tea cool completely.
- Add the elderflower syrup and the lemon juice.
- Garnish with a sprig of lemon balm and a slice of lemon.
3. Mango-rooibos
- 2 mangoes
- 5 bags of rooibos tea
- 1.5 liters of water
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 3 tbsp agave syrup
- Peel and pit the mangoes and cut them into pieces.
- Put the mango in the blender and blend until you get a puree.
- Bring the water to a boil and add the tea bags.
- Let the tea cool completely.
- Add the mango puree along with the agave syrup and the lemon juice to the tea.
- Serve the iced tea with plenty of ice cubes.
