Movies we are looking forward to this autumn
Last weekend, May wrote about why she finds it so cozy that autumn has started again (see here), but dear May, you forgot something. Autumn also means it's time to plan more dates to the cinema. Nice and warm inside with a big box of popcorn… Here definitely more tips for original dates and yes, the cinema is just part of it – but in a different way.
Here are all the movies we can look forward to this autumn:
Mother!
To be seen from: now already in the cinema
Jennifer Lawrence plays the role of a frustrated woman living with her husband (Javier Bardem), who in turn invites crazy people to stay with them in the mansion they live in. This horror film is from the same creator as ‘Black Swan’: Darren Aronofsky, by the way, also the new love of Jennifer Lawrence.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle
To be seen from: September 21
This is the sequel to the successful film ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ from 2014 about the young prodigy spy Egsy (Taron Egerton) and the veteran spy Harry Hart (Colin Firth). This time, a lot of new big names have joined. I mention a Channing Tatum and a Julianne Moore. Perfect for a date night with your boy, because it has both action and humor. And for you Channing then.
Jigsaw
To be seen from: October 26
Yes, he is back again. You would think that after about eight ‘Saw’ films they would be done with it, but they have a new one for everyone with a strong stomach. Did you think ‘Saw: The Final Chapter’ would be the very last? Well, no, ‘Jigsaw’ is back.
Thor: Ragnarok
To be seen from: October 26
Thor and his magical hammer are back with his third film, so for all Marvel lovers; this one is for you. The Hulk also has an important role in this, as he must save his planet together with Thor.
The Snowman
To be seen from: November 2
In the mood for a thriller? ‘The Snowman’ is about the book of the same name about inspector Harry Hole (Michael Fassbender), a chief detective searching for a missing woman but discovers that an elusive serial killer is active again.
Suburbicon
To be seen from: November 16
This script is written by the Coen brothers with George Clooney as director and Matt Damon in the lead role. I mean, if you want to talk about a perfect equation, then this is it. Just look:
Battle of the Sexes
To be seen from: November 23
Based on Bobby Riggs (played by Steve Carell) who played a tennis match against the then 29-year-old tennis star Billie Jean King (Emma Stone) in 1973, called ‘Battle of the Sexes’. Who ultimately won? Well, you can see that from November 23.
Professor Marston and the Wonder Women
When it comes out in the Netherlands is not yet entirely known, but assume around the end of October – I will keep you updated
Everyone who was a fan of the film ‘Wonder Woman’ will want to see this too. This is about the man who invented the story and his very unique relationship with his wife and their mistress. ‘Their’, yes, because both turn out to be in love with her.
Happy dating!
