Body & Mind

Never again that whole bar thanks to these tips

I am of the rare kind that can indeed take one cookie, sufficient with a corner of chocolate or a handful of chips. There is absolutely nothing wrong with unhealthy eating, as long as you can control yourself and enjoy it consciously. Do you have bottom drift, must that cup of B&J’s be finished to the last drop, the bag of chips empty and that roll of cookies conquered to the last crumb? Then these tips are for you.

1. Empty kitchen cabinets

After that delicious lunch or satisfying dinner, many people tend to snack. The best tip is to not bring too much into the house. Is the damage already done? Then don’t flop on the couch with a whole bag of chips, but be smart and put a handful of chips in a bowl. When it’s gone, it’s gone.

2. Be kind to yourself

If you deny and forbid yourself everything, it becomes very attractive. Consciously enjoy tasty things and know your limits.

3. Motivate yourself

Try to set a goal for yourself. Do you want more energy or do you want to lose a few pounds, try to keep that in mind. Or do it the diehard way and stick photos of the slimmest you in places you frequent.

4. Choose consciously

Try to find the balance. If you have a dinner planned where you know you will eat to your heart's content and you can't escape that glass of wine, keep your lunch lighter. If you enjoy having something tasty with your cup of tea in the evening, skip your afternoon snack.

5. Why?

Consciously ask yourself why you are putting something in your mouth and what you are craving. You will see that half the time you eat out of boredom, habit, or emotion. By thinking about it consciously, you can prevent yourself from just starting to snack.

6. Find distraction

Finish your plate and immediately find a distraction. Your brain only signals after twenty minutes that you are full. Bet that you will feel satisfied?
