New catwalk material from Dutch soil

Chanel, I love you, really, but what Saint Laurent did yesterday is just out of this world. Can I say that this might be the most beautiful runway (catwalk – whatever you want to call it) ever? I mean, the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop, if you want to talk about maybe the coolest backdrop ever. The costs of this were probably sky-high (something in the range of the height of the Eiffel itself), but then you have something. And one of the lucky girls who got to walk there yesterday was Dutch model Roos van Elk. Still an unknown name to me, but this girl, she’s one to look out for. With a Vanessa Paradis-like gap between her teeth that I absolutely love.
If you Google seventeen-year-old Roos, you mainly find images and articles about her athletics history. This beauty has already managed to win a number of medals during the junior championships for athletics. I mean, a gold medal for the 800 meters, that’s quite an achievement.
And from the athletics track, you can now find her registered with IBTM Models and VIVA, making her available for booking on the catwalk. Last week she crossed off the Prada show in Milan from her list and yesterday also that of Saint Laurent in Paris. Correct me if I’m wrong, Roos, but I believe the Prada show was also your first show, right? If that’s not a sign of a very successful future in fashion, then I don’t know what is. Or perhaps we’ll see you at the Olympic Games one day?
