Milano I Love You

Lilian may have discovered the best Fashion Week trick ever. Are you the type that likes to be photographed? Score a suit from Scotch & Soda. Lil, who is not really that type at all, could barely walk a few meters before people started pulling at her because they wanted a photo. I get it because: good looks + nice suit = heaven for street style photographers.

What I've learned so far (which actually has nothing to do with fashion but I think it's worth mentioning): the taxi drivers here might be the friendliest in the world. Even if they barely speak a word of English and we can't get further than ciao, bella and buongiorno. After the Gucci show, we got into a taxi with a gentleman whose name I regret we don't know, but let's just call him Mario because that really is the friendliest Italian name forever. Well, Mario is a fan of disco music and I always have the tendency to sing along with everything. When he realized that, our karaoke session started with music from Kool and the Gang. It was amazing, yes.

Let's go back to the fashion circus that is currently taking place in Milan . Lil and I started our day at Patrizia Pepe, who had snagged singer Dua Lipa for their latest campaign. I think that's quite a surprising combination, but also ridiculously cool, because Dua Lipa falls into the cool category for me and Patrizia Pepe I find very feminine and charming. Well, put that together and you practically have a match made in heaven.

From Patrizia Pepe it was off to coffee and cheesecake because hey, this duo is Team Snack and you can't just show up with quinoa or something green. And what comes after cheesecake? Gucci of course. Taxi in and off to the circus where Lil was practically photographed by every photographer. And where you see every color of the rainbow passing by and you really can't just show up in an all-black look (oops, guilty), but hey, I fit perfectly among all the cameramen.

Gucci: hysterical mess and I love it. So you have the people who walk up and down about 100 times hoping to be photographed but hell no they have a ticket to get in (also known as the clowns of fashion week). Then there are the real ladies of fashion who just walk in a straight line and really don't want to stop for every cameraman, I mention an Emmanuelle Alt and a Carine Roitfeld. They come purely for the show and I love that. Then you have the trendsetters and the trend followers. The followers are dressed from head to toe in what was seen on the runway last season and the trendsetters dare to wear bold shoes and give a personal twist to items from previous collections.

After the hustle and bustle around Gucci came that mega cozy taxi ride I just mentioned and now I regret that we didn't just hire that man for the rest of our trip, but hey, so far I like everything here in Milan (I'm a Milan virgin after all) so there must be plenty more fun to come. And now? Now Lilian and I find ourselves on our bed in the Sheraton Diana Majestic hotel with Pringles and Kinder Bueno eggs. #deleven #TeamSnackdoesMilano
