Dreamteam goes Netflix
If you’re talking about perhaps one of the most iconic directors in America, I assume you’re thinking of Martin Scorsese. Am I right? I mention a ‘Shutter Island’ with Leonardo DiCaprio that grossed around two hundred ninety-four million dollars, ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ with 302 million dollars (hallelujah) and don’t forget the classics like ‘Goodfellas’, ‘Gangs of New York’ and ‘The Departed’. Anyway, enough brilliance that the best man has released. But what holds true is the catchphrase of Heidi Klum in Project Runway: ”One day you’re in, and the next day you’re out”. So if you make a mini-misstep and produce a film that cost a lot but didn’t earn much (I’m talking about a budget of forty million that only brought in seven million), well, then you’re ‘out’, according to Hollywood.
‘One day you’re in, the next day
you’re out’
But Martin knows how to handle that, because if there’s a company with a gigantic bank account, it’s Netflix. And they just happen to be producing Scorsese’s new film. Yehess, the man has received a budget of one hundred million dollars for his latest baby called ‘The Irish Man’, an adaptation of the globally acclaimed book of the same name. Oh yes, and as we are used to, he has called up his best buddies in Hollywood to help him with this. No Leonardo this time, but this time the honor goes to Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, and Joe Pesci. I’m telling you: this is going to be a hit. Netflix, I didn’t know it was possible, but I love you even more now.
