Next level coffee drinking?

These are the 10 best spots in the Netherlands

No, coffee is not just a cup of brew. Real coffee is art and is made with love. There is thought put into the roaster, the beans, and the machine. The perfect cup leaves you momentarily speechless. Fortunately, there are a number of places in the Netherlands that understand this all too well.

Dear Sunday snoozers, in the context of International Coffee Day (yes! Today! Have an extra cup on it!) I present to you the places where you can taste the best coffee in the Netherlands. Misset Horeca has announced their annual Coffee Top 100 this week and we are fishing out the coffee crème de la crème. How about a little tour of the Netherlands soon?

10. Hugo, Oosterhout, North Brabant

This espresso bar is inspired by the café culture of Australians. Think: living outside and meeting each other in local coffee shops, where the coffee is made by the traditional barista. Cute.

9. Coffee at Teun, Breda, North Brabant

Always curious about what a barista actually does? Besides drinking awesome coffee, you can also try it out yourself in a coffee workshop here. Winning.

8. ’t Smelnehûs, Drachten, Friesland

Officially a grand café where you can also go for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but hey, that cappuccino looks damn good too.

7. Proefiz Assen, Assen, Drenthe

If you’re heading towards Drenthe soon; there’s a place next to the MediaMarkt at shopping center Cité that has been shining on the list for two years in a row. You just have to try it yourself.

6. Coffee Central, Leeuwarden, Friesland

A true concept in Friesland, and with such crockery, you’re already a hero.

5. Terlago, Horst, Limburg

Also found in the Coffee Top 100 for the sixth time in a row. So guys, I’m getting in the car already, okay?

4. De Wits, Rijswijk, South Holland

In the heart of the center of Old Rijswijk, you will find café and restaurant De Wits. The goal of owners Michel and Rick? To make customers feel at home, serve good food, and above all: the coffee must be top-notch. And that’s just how it is.

3. De Tippe, Vledder, Drenthe

Last year at number 11, but now closing out the top three. Their flagship? According to the jury, the Sulawesi Kalosi espresso from Indonesia. And, if you make coffee like that from the filter, you’re a boss.

2. Talud9, Utrecht, Utrecht

Ha, isn’t it nice that the second-best coffee is simply available in my hometown ? A hidden gem that will undoubtedly gain more recognition. According to the jury, the best? The Ethiopian filter coffee. ‘With a delicious sweet aftertaste of chocolate and nice fresh notes of lime.’ I tell you: next level.

1. Josephine Coffee, Arnhem, Gelderland

I can imagine that you, as Josephine, are very proud right now. You can go to Arnhem for next level filter coffee, the softest foam cappuccinos in the country, but also for all kinds of cakes you can think of. Red velvet. Help. I. Get. Short-circuited.
