NIGHTS AWAY

(that he also likes)

The man in my life had a birthday this week. And of course, I wanted to know what was on his wishlist. “Just waterproof socks, for sailing,” he said. Uuuuh yes, I thought so too. Or not, to be precise. That's why I started googling creatively for a night away. But then a night away that he would be really excited about. And these are the options or yours, if you want to pamper him well.

Sleeping in a treehouse

My love is addicted to the show ‘Treehouse Masters’ on Discovery Channel. Therefore, the treehouse is a serious contender. I can come along, so some luxury is required. In this suite, the beds are made, and they have my favorite coffee. Really, when are we going? I want this. For him of course, for him.

Staying overnight in a lighthouse

Yes, I don’t need to explain this further, right? A wide view, the sound of the waves, that light that blinks every now and then… I find it all very romantic. On to Harlingen.

Not closing an eye at fifty meters high

I think this is really cool, but I also get a bit of breathlessness from the idea. Sleeping in a crane at such a measly fifty meters high. Look, if I sleep, then we’ve tackled the problem, but until then I’m sitting with clenched cheeks in the jacuzzi with a view over Amsterdam. Yes, it’s a punishment.

Retteketet in your private jet

You stay on Dutch soil, but you feel like a jetsetter when you clink champagne glasses before going to sleep. IN YOUR OWN SUITE. Yes, that adds an extra dimension to that sleep story.

Your house by the beach

When you wake up, you take a refreshing dip in the sea and the little house is yours. Book along, beach rackets, a barbecue, and a fire pit, and you're all set. Have you rested enough? Then you can go enjoy a bite to eat (or shopping, shhh) in The Hague.

He gets to choose, so I’ll let you know if I ended up in the woods or by the sea. And did I forget the most awesome overnight stay in the Netherlands? Tips can be sent to adeline@amayzine.com.
