Hi! We are Moya (9), Lieve (9), Bente (9), Belize (8), and Igoné (5) and we are your new editors. Barbie asked us to storm the Amayzine editorial team and when we heard there were marshmallows and kids' champagne, we were sold. Oh yes, and goodie bags. Barbie says you can be anything you want to be. And we really wanted to run Amayzine.com for a day.

“My mom always has to laugh at me because I want to do something different every day. When we got our cat Yasmin, I wanted to become a veterinarian. That seemed so cute to me. Right now I want to be an illusionist or an actress. I really love entertaining others. Making videos, pulling pranks. And did I already mention that I really love candies? I am in group 7 and especially love giving presentations. Recently I talked about the plastic soup in the ocean. Did you know that there is a huge amount of waste floating between Hawaii and San Francisco? They also call it the garbage patch and it is 34 times bigger than the Netherlands. My best trip was to Los Angeles where I was this year with my parents and little brother. Now I would really like to go to New York, but I always enjoy being in Spain too.”

“Today I get to work at Amayzine for a day. At school, they sometimes ask me what my mom actually does. Then I say that she writes stories for other women. Also about the queen. Right now I would like to become a photographer. My mom thinks I take beautiful photos. But when I was younger, I wanted to be a firefighter. My parents dreamed of moving to New York with the whole family one day and I apparently once said very solemnly that I wouldn’t go to New York. The reason was that I really wanted to be a firefighter. Meanwhile, I know that you actually have to be in New York if you want to be a firefighter, haha. I am in group 5 and I enjoy going to school. I find learning about nature and the earth particularly interesting. I really love vacations. We usually go to Italy with the family and we have also been to Paris a few times. But I might be the happiest in our beach house in Wijk aan Zee.”

Bente (9)

“I really love learning and reading and therefore I would like to become a teacher later. If I already understand things in class, I love explaining it to my classmates. Being a teacher seems like a beautiful profession to me. I live in Amsterdam and play hockey and got a guinea pig for my report card. I really enjoy being at Amayzine for a day and seeing how this works. If I were the editor-in-chief, I would highlight the topic of bullying. There is a lot of bullying, even online, and something needs to be done about it. I travel a lot with my parents and little brother. We have been to Thailand many times, but also to Ibiza and this autumn holiday we are going to Dubai together with my uncles, aunts, and grandparents. I am really looking forward to that. We also have a beach house in Wijk aan Zee and I am always very happy there. Running on the beach with all the kids, from trampoline to trampoline, wonderful.”

Lieve (9)

“I am in class with Moya and play hockey with Bente. We live in Amstelveen and have a Bernese Mountain Dog, so cute. I really love telling stories. If I were the editor-in-chief, I would put global warming on the agenda. Something really needs to be done about that. My great love is acting. I have already had a small role in two films and soon another project will come up. Oh no, never mind, I’m not allowed to brag according to my parents.”

Igoné (5)

“Later I want to become a dentist. The mother of a classmate is a dentist and my mom visits her for her braces. Sometimes I get to go along and then I can move the chair up and down. And from her assistant, I get masks and mirrors. I think it’s a very nice profession. I am the little sister of Belize and I have an older sister, Flo. I am in group 2 and enjoy school. On Wednesdays I go to swimming lessons and I think that’s really cool. I stopped ballet, so boring. I do take dance mix with Belize and with all the big girls. Sometimes I cry when I don’t understand the steps, but I practice and am now keeping up well. We often go on vacation to Italy and I really love it there. I love watermelon, Nutella, and pasta alla vongole and you have all that there.”
