The warm wind gently breezes, while the waves of an azure blue sea soothingly crash against the white beach. The beach is as white as almost the entire interior of our hotel and it feels a bit like I'm allowed to stay in KimYe's vacation home. We are on vacation. Finally not for a wedding or the birth of a baby, but simply for vacation. Despite the huge vacation vibe, I am dutifully sitting with my laptop on the beach. Just a short message, because honestly: not every week is bursting with noteworthy events. To be honest, this week was quite boring. Get up, walk Blue, do a bit of work, mostly a lot of laundry and especially a lot of lounging in my chill outfit, still recovering from last week. That is also life in New York. A bit boring, then.

But well, this hotel. We are staying at The Edition. And no, this is not an advertisement, but wow wow wow, what a hotel. Everything is white, everything smells wonderful, all the food is amazing, there are a huge number of candles and there is even a marble pool table (also in white, of course). Downstairs is a pink-lit ice skating rink. During dinner, I whisper to my husband that I want a girl cave like this later. With candles, where men and any future children are not allowed to come. Everything white and of course also with such a marble pool table. He laughs. So do I. But I really mean it seriously...

The only thing that is of course missing on vacation is our little woolly one. He squeaked when his favorite babysitter came to pick him up, but at the elevator, he realized that the same person meant he was leaving us. The squeaking of joy turned into squeaking of panic. Without breathing and swallowing a small tear, I say goodbye to him. One last cuddle and then quickly close the door again. A few hours later, I receive a photo from the babysitter. Blue is reunited with his girlfriend Monkey. And although they say dogs can't smile, I see my little woolly one happy and shining again. Luckily. It always makes the missing a little less.

So. We are going to celebrate vacation. See you next week!
