Chase that dream

With 270 kilometers on the clock per day, I can call myself an expert on the road. In driving the vehicle and in analyzing the behavior of my fellow road users. It probably won't come as a surprise when I say that I believe there are women who have mastered the art of driving particularly well. And I, of course, fall under this category, the epitome of modesty. But I have now found five women from whom I am a hundred thousand percent sure I can learn some driving skills. The onna-onna rally team Les Gazelles.

Let me introduce them to you. Sascha, Saskia, Gerlanda, Inge, and Helene are the very first all-female rally team in the world, thanks to the women-only insurer onna-onna (pay them a visit, because they offer insurance designed for us ladies). These women have ensured that a women's ranking has been added to the Morocco Desert Challenge. If you're thinking: the what? This is, after the Dakar rally, the toughest race on earth. And if the Dakar doesn't ring a bell for you, then you must now take a mandatory Wiki lesson. This is the most intense no-nonsense rally you can undertake in a desert-like environment by car. If you think this is all about eating sand for days; think again. They traverse beach, stony desert, mountains, and sand dunes. The reason this team does this? Not because they believe we women should all crawl behind the rally wheel, but to show that you can make your dreams come true. Push your limits, overcome your insecurities. Look, just making the impossible possible.

This tough team will cover 2600 kilometers with their four-wheel drive in the Sahara between April 17 and 23 in one week. Twenty-six hundred, wow. Oh no, woman-woman-woman of course. The rallies are quite male-oriented, but the onna-onna team breaks this mold. I say: if you want to add some femme to the reporters... I am your woman.
