RENATE GERSCHTANOWITZ WINS omoda LOOK OF THE YEAR AWARDS

Your editors went to the Westerkerk tonight to present the Amayzine Look of the Year Awards. Renate Gerschtanowitz and Steven Dahlberg were crowned best dressed woman and man of the year.

Renate is under the watchful eye of top stylist Danie Bles, but even when she’s not around, she remains the best dressed woman in the Netherlands by far. She matches designer pieces with affordable items, which is also important. Her husband (yes indeed: Winston) reveals some inside information about Renate's shopping escapades. “Renate buys a lot, but makes few impulse purchases. The doorbell rings here more often each month, but that’s also because it’s easy. She gets happy from such a beautiful box from Net-A-Porter. And she mixes a lot. A pair of jeans with very nice shoes from Gucci. I personally think tight jeans look the best, but yes, I want to see those buttocks of course.”

Steven, fashion director at JFK Magazine, has been a name in the fashion industry for fifteen years. We also call him ‘Mister Cool’, says enough, right? Who else went home with an award? Top model Jamilla Hoogenboom, New York-based makeup artist Dominique Samuel, hairstylist Bert Visser, and creative talent Milou Neelen (you know her from the cutest illustrations on the site). Stylist of the Year is Jetteke van Lexmond, who received the award from her sister Lieke. What do you expect, when you did the magic for Doutzen's very first cover ever.

It’s a celebration to put the people behind the scenes in the spotlight. The work they do isn’t always seen, so that calls for awards. And you know your editors, we prefer to do that with a glass in one hand and swaying our hips to a rendition of Frank Sinatra by Jan Versteegh. Yes, Jan grabbed the mic for us. But we’ll tell you all about that later. With pictures, promised.
