S.O.S. Make-up
You have those days (I do) when there’s nothing to be done about your face. A pimple takes over your entire chin, the bags under your eyes hang down to your neck (really) and your skin looks like a lunar landscape. I’m not exaggerating, sometimes it’s like that. But there are tactics for that, clever methods to maneuver the viewer’s attention. This is your S.O.S. make-up for anxious times.
Big Wallie and associates
Do you have giant designer bags under your eyes? Then just skip the dramatic eye make-up. You need: a bit of concealer and a striking lipstick. With the concealer, I’m a fan of the one from Clinique, you can hide the discoloration under your eyes. Be careful not to apply too much, otherwise you’ll just emphasize ‘the bag’. With that striking lipstick, Rouge Coco from Chanel which stays perfect, you shift the attention to your mouth so that sneaky Wallie doesn’t immediately catch the eye. By the way, you can easily reduce that swelling with the eye gel from Lancôme from the Énergie De Vie line. If you keep the tube in the fridge, it gives you an instant eye lift. Just a little curl in the lashes makes everything look so much fresher.
Pimple panic
The most common make-up mistake is to also cover the pimple with your regular concealer. Don’t do it! Most concealers have a highlighting effect, which only emphasizes that bump. You don’t want that. Get one in the shade of your skin, the Pro Longwear concealer from M.A.C. is a lifesaver, or choose a green concealer under your foundation. It takes away the red color.
Injustices
If the make-up artist tells you that primer is all you need, then primer is just all you need. Even when I think things can’t be saved anymore, it still looks quite good with primer. Dry spots are masked, dark lines disappear, and that dull white face (only in winter, mind you) does much better with a layer of this great stuff under the make-up. And here read more benefits of this miraculous product.
And remember: go to bed on time, then your skin will be its sunny self again tomorrow.
