COCKTAILS SIPPING AMONG THE WORLD STARS
(These are the hottest beach clubs in the world)
Do you recognize that mischievous feeling when you want to get tipsy? I have it today. Bad timing because it's a weekday, I know. And on the other hand: why not, because Thursday is almost the weekend and Thursday sounds like a perfect day to let loose. Do you also recognize the feeling that you want to travel again? I have that today too. So we're going to combine it and that's why I've tracked down the most iconic beach clubs of the rich and famous. Sand between the toes, oysters on the right and gin tonics on the left. Are you slurping along?
1. Nikki Beach, Saint Barth
Now, Saint Barth is already the Caribbean jet-set island, but if you really want to meet some VIPs, then you park your butt on a beach chair at the über-exclusive beach club Nikki Beach, where bottles of Cristal champagne are ordered like bottles of S.Pellegrino and beluga caviar is simply bought by the kilo. Jay-Z and Beyoncé regularly dock there when they head out with their yacht. The seafood and sushi platters are said to be next level stuff and my goodness, I can't handle it, I have to go here.
2. Le Club 55, Saint-Tropez
Celebs flocked to the beach chairs like bees to a honeycomb and six decades later, the place is still fodder for paparazzi. If you're a bit of a somebody, then you obviously celebrate the summer in Saint-Tropezand the number of Le Club 55 is on speed dial in your phone. And did I hear that you have a party there soon, May? Lucky lucky you...
3. Hotel del Coronado, San Diego
Okay okay, maybe not exactly a beach club, but definitely a world-famous hotel with an iconic beach where quite a few cocktails have been enjoyed by the rich and famous. If as many as eleven American presidents, Brad Pitt, and Madonna have stayed there, then you know you're in good company. The hotel in California is also known by insiders as ‘The Del’. But of course.
4. Baba Nest, Phuket
Believe it or not: Phuket is much more than just a Thai party island. What if I told you that there's also a super chill rooftop bar by the beach where you can chill on gigantic cushions and where everyone wants to go? Baba Nest is praised for its fantastic view over Phuket, the surrounding islands, and the Andaman Sea. The jet set has already found this spot and I suggest that you stop by during your first visit to Thailand for that cocktail.
5. The Bath Club, Miami
If you've won an Oscar or your last name is Vanderbilt, then you know how to find The Bath Club. This historic members-only beach oasis is surrounded by a gigantic wooden gate that, uh, doesn't just open. Unless you drop a 5000 euro introduction fee and can then spare 7500 euros annually, only then do you belong to the lucky ones allowed on the private grounds for a dip and a drink. So, where could we sign up?
