SO YOU GET THE MOST BEAUTIFUL HAIR IN THE COUNTRY

Is that jar of sugar still good for something

At our editorial office, we of course have Kiek who is known for her flawless touch of eyeliner, then we have Simone with her envy-inducing six-pack, May who seems to never have an off day in her life (jealousy is that Elke, jealousy) and then we have Lil who manages to score the cutest items every time that I secretly want to have too, but sh*t I had to here stick to it. Me? I have to rely on my hair. That is my identifying feature.

So you understand, I would do anything to ensure that my Rapunzel locks stay silky smooth and beautiful. It turns out there is a new hack for this: sugar. Yehess, that jar of sugar in your kitchen is still good for something. Do you often use dry shampoos, volumizing powders, and hairspray to keep everything looking nice? There’s nothing wrong with that, but it’s not very good for your scalp and hair if you don’t give them some tender, love, and care. What you need is simple: hair-exfoliating.

The idea is that it’s actually just exactly the same as what you do daily for your face. Thoroughly washing off your makeup and daily grime, but then for your hair. And it’s easy. Yes, you can buy products for this, but you can also get started yourself. Scoop of sugar with your shampoo and voilà. Massage well while you are washing your hair. “If you add a tablespoon of sugar to a dollop of shampoo, it gives your scalp a light scrub and removes the residue of hair products,” says dermatologist Dr. Francesca Fusco.

Do keep in mind that this, just like scrubbing your face, is not something you should do every day. Try to add it one to two times to your weekly hair-washing sessions and you’re going to have a luscious head of hair. You’re welcome.
