The 5 coolest design hotels for fashion girls
So, you do like a bit of luxury when it comes to hotel rooms? Already looking forward to the Fashion Week? And have you always wanted to see what an overnight stay à la Karl Lagerfeld looks like? Keep on reading, my ladies. These hotels have top designers involved in the decor:
Patrick Hellmann Schlosshotel, Berlin
Think: a beautiful villa in a green setting, yet only ten minutes drive from Berlin's main fashion street (the Kurfürstendamm). I can only think of one person, of course: the man at the helm of Chanel. If you really want to immerse yourself in higher fashion vibes, you can stay in The Grunewald Suite, designed by Keizer Karl, for a small 3,000 bucks per night. Wow.
Claridge’s Hotel, London
You probably know it by name, right? A super chic five-star establishment that is still on my someday list. Anyway, the hotel has a special suite, fully decorated by Diane von Furstenberg. Think animal prints all over. The Grand Piano Suite has two bedrooms and ‘Full personal butler service’. Does that cost a pretty penny? The price is upon request, so you'll have to pick up the phone for that. Uh, who dares?
Hotel Barrière Le Majestic, Cannes
A penthouse suite completely inspired by the Dior headquarters in Paris. This exists, dear people. The illustrations of vintage Dior pieces on the walls, everywhere Christian's favorite color gray and exactly the same color red cushions on the couch that Dior was designed in 1947. If you have a Dior fetish; you will go wild here.
The Notre Dame Hotel, Paris
Exclusively designed by Christian Lacroix, who transformed the 17th-century building into a true couture hotel. Where every room is uniquely designed, which I find a delightful concept anyway. In the hotel, you will find 26 dreamily luxurious suites, all pimped by Mister Lacroix himself. Velvet, leather, baroque influences, marble; nothing is too crazy.
The St. Regis, New York
Also ridiculously decadent that I fear normal mortals like us won't be visiting anytime soon. But if that money tree in the garden suddenly bears fruit after years of nurturing, then you take the plane to New York and then you sleep at the St. Regis. And then you book the famous Tiffany suite, in the perfect shade of blue as we are used to from the brand. And a view of Central Park, so beautiful, man oh man.
