The battle of the cat person versus the dog person

“Huh, I thought you were more of a dog person,” I was told recently. Me? A dog person? Man, I almost felt offended. Not even knowing exactly why.
Honestly, I find puppies very cute. Some of them (don't growl Lil, your Nola definitely belongs to the first category). The fact remains that I feel deep down like a cat person . As a little girl, I could comfortably kneel on the street for half an hour petting a strange cat. Still do, by the way. Besides, I think I'm way too lazy to even have a dog. Although it would be the ideal waste stunt: PEOPLE, I'm getting a dog! No okay, bad idea.
Alright, so you're team dog or cat. Either you tag each other on Facebook in cat videos or dog videos. Does that say something about your personality? According to science, yes. Dog people are said to be more lively, adhere more to rules, and be more active in life. Cat people, on the other hand, are more self-contained and generally more intelligent, creative, and neurotic. Even on Facebook, they are particularly engaged with the phenomenon of team-dog-or-cat, and thus the social media profiles of 160,000 Facebook users with a cat or dog in their profile picture were compared. And hey, I just want to share fun facts with you. Guaranteed to your doorstep, that much is true.
Behold the differences:
- Dog people generally have more friends on Facebook.
– Cat lovers, on the other hand, are more often invited to events.
– Dog people visit each other less often on Facebook than cat people (hmm, maybe because dog people are more active and just visit their friends face to face?).
– Cat people are more often single (#crazycatladies).
– Cat people love genres like fantasy (think Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland, and Stephen King thrillers), while dog people are more sensitive to romance. They are more likely to open books by Nicholas Sparks and watch TV series like Grey’s Anatomy and The Voice.
– There are a few things where they are on the same page. Classics like Frozen and The Hunger Games are liked by both groups.
– Finally, it is noticeable that cat and dog owners live in different locations. Cat people tend to live in big cities, while dog people live in the countryside.
Who let the dogs out? Not me, at least. Laaaaater!
