I used to find the whole beauty salon story a bit complicated too. But trust me: there is nothing better than making time for yourself. It's just a matter of doing it. And here's where you should go if it were up to me:

Laurent Salon & Spa (Utrecht)

The beauty salon of Utrecht if you ask me. If I want to pamper myself for a day in my hometown, I rush to Laurent, my favorite place for a moment of peace, relaxation, and a nice massage. And if you don't have time for a full body massage, you can also choose a 15-minute mini-facial with all sorts of natural products. Just sit in the chair and boom, a quarter of an hour later you're glowing as you walk out the door. Advantage: it's a beauty and hair salon in one, so if you have plans for your hair; that can be arranged too.

Universal Beauty (Amsterdam)

Does the name Kim Lien Nguyen ring a bell? She has opened six nail salons (Universal Nails) over the past thirteen years. About two years ago, she added her own beauty salon. If you want your brows to be completely on fleek, I would definitely recommend heading that way. For the stress bunnies among us: they also have body algae wraps and they do permanent hair removal, waxing, facials, and body treatments, you name it. Advantage: this salon is affordable and open seven days a week until 9:00 PM.

ZeNNsation (Breda)

If you live near Breda, this is the place to be for massages. The salon has already won Treatwell's Best Salon of 2016 award. Wellness massage, sports massage, pregnancy massage, hot stone, Indian head massage; everything is possible. Extra advantage: the staff at ZeNNsation will even come to your office if you want. A chair massage for 20 minutes for all your colleagues to de-stress, YESSSS, baby.

Beaux-Arts Skincare Store (Eindhoven)

These are the bosses in Eindhoven when it comes to body and facial care. Acne? They fix it for you. Back pain? They tackle it. Red skin? They make it less for you. This salon has also won awards for their good reviews. And not unimportantly: the staff is sweet. Advantage: in the category of ‘extremely BlairWaldorf-ish’ they also offer facials with caviar. So, when were we going again?
