The ultimate beauty experience
What do you do when you've had a ridiculously busy week (I'm talking about an insanely cool Look of the Year Awards), your head is filled with a considerable amount of snot again, and the bags under your eyes are so thick that even an eye cream doesn't work anymore? Well, then you park a very big cross in your agenda and schedule a pamper day. So last Sunday, I slalomed around the tourists and chaotically left Amsterdam behind. Because that peace, you certainly won't find in the heart of Amsterdam, but at Laurent Salon & Spa. A true beauty oasis in the heart of Utrecht. Upon entering, you are already overwhelmed by personal attention and serenity. This made me zen even before I had parked my body in my own way too thick white bathrobe and my feet in crack white flip-flops. Upon hearing that the salon works with Aveda products (my absolute favorite), my heart skipped a beat.
After three rounds in the sauna and a stack of magazines later (don't tell anyone, but I secretly took our own magazine with me, our OWN magazine, yes), I stepped into one of the treatment rooms and plopped down in the enormous ultra-relaxed treatment chair. Ready for a check-up, yes really. As a guest, you have the opportunity to undergo an extensive beauty check-up, an analysis of the hair, skin, and the factors that may influence their condition. Based on this analysis, an expert advice and a phased treatment plan are drawn up, taking into account the wishes, needs, and possibilities. And since my makeup artist asked last week during my touch-up if I was using eye cream (and thanks), I thought a rejuvenation treatment was in order. The Dual Exfoliation Treatment is Aveda's latest development in skin-renewing treatments. The result of the treatment leads to visible improvement in skin texture, refines the pores, and provides a softer appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The best part? After I checked myself in the mirror following a total body scrub and a moment in the steam cabin, I already saw results. You want that, right?
With a baby-soft skin and a waft of Aveda around me, I returned to busy but oh-so-nice Amsterdam. And next time (because of course, I've already parked another cross), I will plop down in the chair with one of Laurent Salon & Spa's hair gurus.
