The worst photoshop skills of the past year

Ha, yes, photoshop fails, they remain fun to look at. The best one I can remember is the one of Jan Versteegh together with Tim Hofman and an arm that had sort of disappeared. Do you still remember him? And what I was also really annoyed by was a photo of Christie Brinkley with her daughters where they didn't so much shop the ladies, but Christie suddenly had the magical power to stand on water. Anyway, 2017 also saw quite a few photoshop fails. From magazines to the own instagram accounts of the rich and famous. Here are the worst ones in a row:

Selena Gomez

The pop princess posted a selfie on her instagram account, but before she knew it, she was already accused of having made some adjustments. See bottom left in the image, something is not quite right here.

Kylie Jenner

Kylie was also accused by her followers of editing her ‘curves’ in this photo because the door frame looks suspiciously different (crooked).

Lupita Nyong’o’s cover for the British Grazia

She was furious when she found out that Grazia had completely shopped her hair off for the cover. ‘I would have explained that I cannot support or condone the omission of what is my native heritage with the intention that they appreciate that there is still a very long way to go to combat the unconscious prejudice against black women’s complexion, hair style and texture.’

The movie poster for the new Tomb Raider

Something with suddenly a very long neck for actress Alicia Vikander, the new Angelina Jolie.

Emily Ratajkowski

She was furious with the French magazine Madame Figaro that had made her lips and breasts smaller in a photo. Funny that you often see the opposite, that everything is made bigger for the photo. In any case, the model/actress was not amused and posted the before and after photo on her own instagram account.

Vogue (US)

Vogue also had to deal with a scandal surrounding their issue, specially made to promote diversity within the modeling world, only it seemed that Gigi Hadid's arm was intentionally made longer to make plus-size model Ashley Graham look slimmer.

Cannes Film Festival

Yikes, if you're going to use an existing photo, you might as well not adjust it like they did in Cannes for a poster for the famous film festival. It was about the original photo with Claudia Cardinale from 1959 and a suddenly much thinner version of the beauty for the 2017 version. Fail.

Net-A-Porter

Phew, I guess the person responsible for this mistake also quickly had to pack their things. Uploading a photo with a note stating where the model should be made thinner. Netta, I love you, but be ashamed.

Netflix

Yes, even my buddies at Netflix managed to make a mistake. I had to look closely at this one, but for the promo photo for the Netflix Original film The Babysitter, they worked with two right hands. That's not very handy, Netflix.
