THIS IS HOW YOU MAKE THAT VERY INSTAGRAMMABLE FLATLAY PHOTO

For an even cooler Instagram feed

Last week I told you about it here the secret behind the most beautiful Instagram feed in the country. And now that you've had a week to practice and peek at the pros, put together your color palette and downloaded the necessary apps, it's time for part two.
Today I will tell you how to take the perfect flatlay photo for Instagram to add even more coolness to that feed. A flat-what? A flatlay photo; a photo of your favorite perfume, nail polishes, a bright lipstick, flowers, macarons, freshly baked croissants, or your new Gucci sunglasses. Taken from above, with a pretty high Pinterest factor. How do you whip up such a flatlay? I'll tell you in a few simple steps.

Best background

It's important to choose a background that complements the products in the photo and doesn't create chaos. A nice wooden table, a neatly made bed, or marble floor are backgrounds that always work well. Look around you, bet you're surrounded by beautiful spots?

Nice light

Perhaps the most important thing: always try to take your photo in natural light. Preferably in the morning or just at the end of the afternoon. In the middle of the day, the light is often too harsh, resulting in strong shadow effects. And that's exactly what we don't want.

Kill your darlings

Choose a few beautiful items and kill your darlings where necessary. With too many trinkets, it quickly looks messy or shabby, and that does not create a Pinterest-worthy image.

Space please

To prevent your flatlay from looking messy or chaotic, it's important to create white space between the products. It doesn't have to be much, but a little breathing room is always nice, right?

Frame it up

Whether you go for a white frame or a perfectly fitting square; it's important to keep this in mind when photographing. This way, you can be sure that a product doesn't need to be cropped halfway.

Color palette

And there it was again, the color palette peeking around the corner. Even while photographing your flatlay, it's important to keep your base calm. Here and there a bright color as an accent and voilà: your flatlay rocks your account.

I’m sure of it.

So pull those shopped items out of the closet again, and I'll take care of freshly baked croissants, deal? See you soon, nice! @lilianbrijl
