This is how you survive a festival
Summer is approaching, girlfriends, and that means: festival season. I love festivals. Preferably in the sun, friends around me, nice music in the background, and a drink in hand. The only thing that often gets neglected during such a party is healthy eating. And of course, a fries should be allowed and that beer tastes even better. But when you're having such a good time, it's nice to also be at the festival grounds healthy choices . Now you really don't have to take your green smoothie or a bowl of broccoli onto the grounds, but conscious choices can be made. If you want to. To somewhat survive your favorite party healthily, I give you six survival tips.
1. Stay hydrated
If you're dancing in the grass all day in the blazing sun and if alcohol is also flowing freely, it's important to drink enough water. So take a bottle of water onto the grounds and fill it with cucumber, ginger, or lemon, for example. This way you have something refreshing at hand and the lemon helps to flush out toxins.
2. Snacks
Always make sure you have a healthy snack in your bag in case you get hungry. A muesli bar, a bag of nuts, or an apple fits easily in your bag and will satisfy your initial hunger.
3. Choose consciously
Of course, that slice of pizza topped with kilos of cheese tastes extra good after a few beers, and fries from a cone are way better than on a plate, but you can also make conscious choices at the festival grounds. Nowadays, you see more and more food trucks with trendy salads, freshly made sandwiches, wraps, or fruit salads. Just as tasty, but a bit less fatty.
4. Be well prepared
At the moment you eat healthily in the days before diving into the party chaos, the temptation at the festival is much less. This way, your body is better prepared for a day (and night) of dancing and flirting.
5. Good foundation
Make sure to have a good protein-rich breakfast before the day starts, so your blood sugar level stays low and you can postpone hunger for as long as possible.
6. Keep dancing
By walking, dancing, and jumping a lot, you naturally burn the necessary calories. That doesn't mean you have to shove everything you encounter into your mouth, but you can treat yourself to something nice.
And uhhh, if that greasy hotdog in that soggy bun loaded with ketchup, mayo, and crispy onions ends up in your hands, just enjoy it. Tomorrow is another day...
