The teenager grows up with his divorced mother Dorothea in a large house where various tenants have also found refuge. A dreamy film that takes you back in time, excellently acted, and where a box of tissues is not an unnecessary luxury.

Not a fan of stuffy high tea? Then go enjoy some wine tasting with your mom. Plenty of beautiful and special locations where you can high wine in the Netherlands. 

Sauna

Every city has a spa, a sauna, or something like that, so find the best one near you. Treat yourself to a whole day of pampering in steam cabins, saltwater baths, and herbal waters. Book a manicure, a pedicure, or put your mother on the massage table. A day of relaxation that not only brings great joy to your mother.

Beach walk and cocktails by the sea

If the sun shows itself tomorrow, then of course you're going to the sea. For a good walk through the sand and as a reward, a good gin and tonic on the left and an oyster on the right. At Blooming Beach, for example, in Bergen aan Zee. Who knows, you might run into Adeline with dear mother.

Afternoon tea

What is more of a girlfriend thing than having high tea? I don't know how it is for you, but I make my mother an incredibly happy person with this. For a royal high tea, you need to go to The Duchess in Amsterdam. Endless enjoyment of bubbles, elegant sandwiches, refined pastries, macarons, and much more deliciousness. Everything perfectly arranged as you are used to from The Duchess.
