Tour de France fans, pay attention...

And don't say that the Tour is only for men, because I completely disagree with that. I grew up with it and often went with my family, when we still lived in Paris, standing somewhere by Rue de Rivoli on the last day to see the riders. Nice location too, because then you don't just see them pass by once like during the other rounds, but several times even.

But what ruins the Tour a bit every year are all those doping stories, especially for the men who actually deserved the yellow jerseys instead of, let's say, a Lance Armstrong, to name the most famous example. That moment on the Champs-Élysées is just taken away from you. Too bad. A shame.

Top sports, it's a different profession and in America, a country that actually isn't known at all as a fan of cycling, they've come up with something funny. There isn't a documentary made about it, but a mockumentary. Actor Andy Samberg has made something like this before called ‘7 Days in Hell’, which is about a seven-day tennis match (unfortunately not based on a true story). This time it's made with the aim of addressing the doping scandals in cycling, of course with a pretty large amount of big celebrities: Orlando Bloom, Mike Tyson, Kevin Bacon, and J.J. Abrams. Oh yes, and Lance himself is also part of it. Just look:

Starting July 8, the mockumentary will be broadcast on HBO. But if you don't have HBO, just email me at elke@amayzine.com for some streaming tips.
