Uitgaan met een knal

Cannes, it does something to you. Or at least to your hair. That French nonchalant hairstyle including bangs suddenly comes out. And not just in the French Riviera where we spotted it among others with Lily Collins and Emily Ratajkowski; it has also appeared on plenty of red carpets. So if there's something you need to do to your hair this summer, it's to get the scissors in, and right at the front. May knows it, Lil knows it, a handful of the prettiest celebs know it and Kiek has been rocking the look for years. So to the question of whether you should get bangs: yes, yes, YES. But um no, I haven't done that myself yet. Something with the I-only-dare-to-get-the-ends-trimmed syndrome. And then I see these celebs again and think: do it girl, your hair grows back quickly anyway.

Bella Hadid

This lady rocked the bangs just a few days ago at the CFDA Awards. I call this the Kiki-style bangs. Pretty much straightforward, just over your eyebrows but above your eyes.

Alexa Chung

Can I call her the queen of bangs? Every now and then she lets them grow out again. This British beauty knows how to add a touch of Parisienne to her look through her hair. By the way, have you seen her new clothing collection yet??

Lily Collins

This is the Audrey Hepburn bangs. You really have to dare, because they fall just above your eyebrows. We saw Lily with this during the Cannes Film Festival and perhaps not everyone agrees, but I think this looks the best on ladies with dark hair.

Emily Ratajkowski

Emily also went for the Audrey Hepburn look in Cannes and she was also spotted with it in the American Marie Claire. I just said it: so beautiful on ladies with dark locks.

Halle Berry

In this list, Halle is number one for me. With bangs, without bangs, everything looks good on her. This summer she is also part of team bangs. As far as I'm concerned, they can stay for a while.
