WHAT TO DO THIS WEEKEND

Allereerst: Fijne St. Patrick's Day. How was your week? The sun was shining, it felt like spring for a moment, clouds followed, and the temperature felt suspiciously wintery again. I found it quite difficult to find a rhythm here, and my wardrobe too. This weekend doesn't seem to be much fun either, but I think you can't really count on anything anymore. Except that the next two days are yours. Yes, uncork that bottle and celebrate the weekend! No plans yet? No problemo.
Beer Bakery
The weekend for many people is all about grocery shopping, butcher here, sliced white there, and that bunch of tomatoes preferably at another address. Nothing is as nice as chatting, preparing, and eating all day long. This weekend you can swap your regular bakery address for a very special bread brewer. Correct Dutch? Medium. Applicable? Certainly. Heineken is opening the doors of its own bakery this weekend. You can go to the Vijzelgracht in Amsterdam at the Heineken Bakery. And as you might expect, the bread has a twist. The breads are baked with one of the ingredients that also works in the beer, the A-yeast. Do you get it now, ‘bread brewer‘? If those don't fly off the shelves... See you there, we'll have a refreshing beer afterwards.
Kriss Kross
If we stretch that bakers' gathering long enough, before you know it, it's time to show off the dance moves you learned in your last street dance class. Not that I've done street dance, but after a few beers, I sometimes feel like I have. And yes, there's footage of that and no, it's not going online. Or maybe after a few beers. Where were we again? Oh yes, street dance. You can showcase your dance moves during the Kriss Kross Part 17. I don't think that requires much explanation, because the Kriss Kross parties are legendary and with the guys from Fat Kids Cake involved, you know it's going to be one to stumble home from.
A little touch-up
After all the party noise, you might be in need of a little touch-up. For me, a bit of a far-from-my-bed show, but okay, I'm not the hardest to please. You can get a full makeover this weekend during the I Love Beauty Event in Utrecht. So think beauty blenders (yes, I still pick up a thing or two here), mascara fountains, and concealers to the max.

Take a break
Want a break from your weekend? Then stop by The Butcher Social Club tonight, where you'll feel like you're in Cancún. They have Spring Break Night, including a beer pong tournament, DJs, and other games. Did I mention you have a chance to win 100 euros worth of beers if you turn out to be the best beer pong player? 1 year Sunday Social
Sunday morning is of course for snoozing, turning over, and enjoying Netflix. This way you save all your social skills to be able to go to the Social Sunday in the W. And this time it's a very special edition because they are celebrating their anniversary. That means a banging Sunday afternoon drink and cake. Because those who celebrate share, and if there's one thing I love... Shall we poke a fork together?
