I SIGNED UP FOR
EXPEDITION ROBINSON

(And this is what happened)

As the diehard Amayzine reader knows, I spontaneously signed up for Expedition Robinson: 2017. What happened next? Honestly, I think I've never been called so many times at once. It's a madhouse. I marvel at it every day and of course, I just find it funny.

From the creators‘ perspective, that whole ’signing up' is of course very clever, because once you turn it into a competition, you can count on a lot of
media attention. Shall we take a moment to summarize how my past weeks looked? Good. I signed up for Expedition Robinson and this is what happened:

Sunday, March 5: on Telegraaf.nl

I get tagged in a post on Facebook. ‘Circle around celebrities wants to refrain from Robinson island’ headlines De Telegraaf on the website. And suddenly my name is there. ‘Blogger Kiki Düren is also making a bid for a spot on Robinson island and does this in her own unique style by balancing on top of a gigantic pile of magazines.’ WHAAAAA. Okay, stay cool. Stay cool. This is very normal. Especially when you're sitting on an island soon.

Am I not going to be a total bitch if I don't eat for three days? And why do I actually want to participate in the program so badly?

Monday, March 6: on the radio at FunX

My phone rings. I answer and get a staff member from FunX (that public radio station for young people in the big cities) on the line. Whether I wanted to talk about Expedition Robinson. But of course.

Tuesday, March 7: interview in De Telegraaf

And yes; I was also called for an exclusive story in the newspaper. Holy moly. Just check here on Insta.

Tuesday, March 7: on Viva.nl

Viva published the article ‘9x the most striking candidates in the running for Expedition Robinson‘. “We are very curious how Kiki will manage three weeks without heels, bags, and makeup AND she has promised to do something about that annoying bird in the commercial break.” Ladies, mark my words; once I'm on that island, that bird is the first to go. And that's how I'm going to tackle it.

Saturday, March 11: on AD.nl

And it doesn't stop with the lists. Also on the AD website they paid attention to Expedition Robinson. “Kiki Düren, journalist at Amayzine, is also making a bid for one of the four spots on Robinson island. Although she doesn't call herself the ultimate fit girl, she does have a considerable amount of endurance.” It just keeps going, people!

Sunday, March 12: on the radio at Extra FM

How quickly was that video actually made? Am I not going to be a total bitch if I don't eat for three days? And why do I actually want to participate in the program so badly? With DJs Patrick and Bart in the live radio broadcast of Extra FM
it was all discussed. You can here listen back by the way, if you're curious.

So, you understand: these were two crazy weeks. But what do my eyes see now? Well, GOOD GRIEF, I've been overtaken again by Rosita Ruigrok. So, Amayzers, I need your help. Will you have your neighbor/grandma/yoga buddy vote too? I think that's sweet. And that can here

I WOULD SAY: ON TO THAT ISLAND!
