WHAT THE SUN DOES TO YOUR MOOD

With a folding chair under one arm and a nice notebook under the other, we headed outside. Simoon and Lilian dared to take a Mac, but I still have a huge trauma from a near-robbery of that darling on the street, so I left it safely inside. Supersonically, meetings were held (but really) and in the meantime, we polished the color a bit.

That sun does mysterious things to you. Suddenly, I need a whole hour less sleep, while in winter I transform into a sort of hibernating marmot. And I run outside at the slightest ray with the weakest excuse. Totally true, says science. The sun gives you a good dose of vitamin D and actually, that big yellow ball is one big warm hug for your body. Literally, because you warm up (sometimes a bit too much). But besides all that good health, there are also less scientifically proven issues that the sun does to you. Remarkable things from my own kitchen, here they come.

“That yellow ball is one big warm hug for your body”

Driving becomes fun

Because you position that beauty of a pair of sunglasses on your nose, that makes it instantly fun, and the world is just a little bit more beautiful. There is flirting and laughing (if the Schipholtunnel doesn't just close) and you play sunny music. Well, that drive to work becomes almost like cruising on a road trip.

Like music in your ears

Just a bit about that music, but I'm spinning my Bueno Vista Social Club brothers through the speakers on Spotify again. Then you know it's summer. Anyway, the DJ in me comes out when the mercury rises. No worries Elke, you remain our house DJ.

Just a bit of serious housework

Flowers on the table, a different frame for that portrait, and refreshing the cushions. You get the itch and the desire to completely upgrade your living room. By the way, I know how to bring spring into your living room, just take a look here.

Sunny side up

You become a colorful character, literally. Really great, that black and dark blue. But now the wardrobe just becomes a cocktail party with umbrellas, such a party. Yellow, orange, and pink are suddenly an option.

Food and beverages

Having your loved one and red wine by the fireplace is all very nice, of course, but with a good glass of white on the terrace is just a bit cheerier. Salad suddenly becomes tasty and ice cream is among the options. Hooray, the ice age has begun.

Okay, I'm going to put all of the above into practice now. Adios amigos!
