WHY ALL MOTHERS WANT THIS
It's a good thing that a pregnancy lasts nine months, because it took me at least that long to figure out what my perfect stroller should be. It had to be good and safe for the baby, but looking nice was definitely number two on my list. And I needed to be able to easily walk through Vondelpark with it (never done that by the way, but it seemed like a good idea once) as well as maneuver it over a terrace.
My own children have suddenly all outgrown their strollers (what happened? Why didn't anyone tell me?), but I always look back at which stroller I would have chosen now. Well, I have one again, you know. The Stokke® Xplory®. You want it and here's why.
1. The colors
Yes sorry, but if it says navy blue and coral red, then I want it. I'm actually inclined to order one for our doll collection. Or for later.
2. The fabric
It's water-repellent (pretty handy with our climate), quick-drying, and has laser perforation which makes the ventilation optimal. Those are also the kinds of things you suddenly care about as a mother. Ventilation. Never thought about it until I got pregnant. Is she breathing well in that little crib? Those kinds of things.
3. The accessories
First the practical ones like an extra long sunshade (because we like to sit far out of the shade on that terrace...), rain cover, and a mosquito net, and a very handy bag to store those pesky things (they are pesky when you don't need them). And a luxury cup holder for your latte on the road.
4. The even more fun extras
Like the diaper bag (in coral and navy of course!) and the travel crib.
5. And this too
The Stokke® Xplory® can be adjusted in height. If you, like me, had your children in a busy city, you find it terrible that their clean little faces are at exhaust height. The Stokke® strollers can be raised so that your baby breathes cleaner air and can also make more eye contact with you.
6. That baby carrier
Super handy if you want to walk through the city together. Think King's Day, think Prinsengracht concert. Then you can comfortably tie that baby on your back. Or on their back, even better. Stokke® has the MyCarrier™ baby carrier in beautiful colors (besides my favorite also in nice taupe or classic black). It can already be used when your child is zero months old, whereas with other carriers you sometimes have to wait until they are six weeks old. Ideal, because you can go outside right away. Wind at your back, sun on your face.
I wish all new mothers the most beautiful, coziest, and most active summer in the coolest outfit. I would go for... navy blue. Or maybe coral?
