BEAUTY HACKS YOU SHOULD NEVER EVER TRY

Guilty. I'm someone who always clicks on 'beauty hacks' when I come across them online.I am a disaster with makeup, so I always try to keep it as neutral as possible. A smokey eye usually looks like a black eye, eyeliner is a complete disaster because it ends up everywhere except where it should, and contouring? Well, I shouldn't even start with that. So beauty hacks, yes, I always hope to improve my makeup routine with them. But all those beauty hacks you come across are not always a success. Here are a few that you better skip...

An egg hair mask

Yeah, no joke, there are people who claim that a combination of conditioner, olive oil, and a beaten egg is good for your hair. The only thing you end up with is a scrambled egg hairstyle instead of envy-inducing locks.

Permanent marker as eyeliner

I promise you, I'm not making this up. This is genuinely done and is incredibly bad for your skin. It can cause a burning sensation on your skin, but there are also chemicals in it that, if they enter your bloodstream, can cause allergic reactions. There are even extreme cases known of liver failure and memory loss. Permanent markers are simply NOT meant to be used on your skin, so never do it.

Heating up eyeliner

Also something that causes burning eyes, so DO. NOT. DO IT. Don't melt your eyeliner with a lighter. Yes, that's right, it becomes a bit liquid which makes you think it's easier to apply, but again: don't do it.

Turmeric face mask

Turmeric, perhaps better known as the miracle remedy. But if you have a light skin tone, don't use it in a face mask, because then you'll walk around for a few days looking like an Oompa Loompa. The orange color leaves stains on your skin like a self-tanner gone wrong. You don't want that.

Homemade pore strips

Something that has been trending online in the past few weeks are the videos about blackhead pore strips that people make themselves. If you're working with gelatin and milk, there's a good chance you're smearing something on your face that smells like rotten eggs and doesn't remove any blackheads. And those popular charcoal masks that you see a lot nowadays are also not a success. They work like a kind of glue when you make them yourself, so instead of ensuring a clear skin, they only cause damage. There's even a lady in London who has lost all her eyebrows.. Yikes.
