9 beauty hacks to get through the summer with ease

Summer can be quite a hassle when it comes to your beauty rituals. You've already had to shrink half of your beauty stash because there's no room in that sweet little toiletry bag of yours. And then you often leave masks and scrubs behind because they are those inconvenient things that you pull off your shelf at home. What do you get in return? Disastrously frizzy hair, dry legs, and razors that you can throw away after a week. How do you solve it? Well, like this, because with these handy beauty hacks, you're prepared to tackle the summer full of beauty failures.

1. Coupe plak

Are you only twisting your hair into a top knot or braid to cope with the heat? No way, that's not necessary at all. If you use a deodorant (a roller) on your back, then the hairs won't stick to your back because you'll be completely sweat-free. And you smell nice, another great point.

2. The coldest aftersun

Aftersun is incredibly nice when it's really cold. Pour a cube of aftersun into an ice cube tray in the morning and leave it in the freezer all day. When you roll off the beach like a lobster, you'll really need this. Your aftersun has never been this cold, and it helps to hydrate the skin immediately. Exactly what it needs.

3. A longer life for the razor

You shouldn't keep a razor in the shower anyway. I know it's very convenient, but it's not nice when you want to give that thing a long life. The caring edge quickly flakes off, leading to faster infections or even cuts. You don't want that. Store it in a small container of olive oil. Ultra-soft and guarantees a longer life. Oh yes, and your legs will be even smoother.

4. Nail polish in the fridge

This prevents it from becoming a sticky mess. By putting it in the fridge, nail polish stays nice and smooth, and you won't end up applying it with bubbles.

5. A potato for smooth feet

Smooth feet before you slide into your sandals? A half potato with a bit of sea salt works as a scrubber. Calluses disappear quite quickly from your feet, so you really have no reason not to have well-pedicured feet.

6. Get rid of sweat stains

Summer is sweat. I can't make it any prettier for you. To get sweat stains out of clothes, you can drop a bit of lime juice on the spot before throwing it in the washing machine. #tipvanoma

7. Dry your hair with a T-shirt

Summer also guarantees a blown-up head. For hair that is really all over the place. Now, it’s pretty cool to have a natural beachy wave, but if you've washed your hair, massaged in a mask, and then have to go outside with blown-up hair again, that doesn't seem quite right to me. After showering, try wrapping a T-shirt around your head instead of a towel. A towel actually pulls all the moisture out of your hair, and moisture is exactly what those locks need.

8. Stop blisters

Blisters on your feet from walking along the boulevard? It sounds a bit painful, but spray or roll a bit of deodorant on the spots that cause friction, and blisters will form much less quickly. You may not have anything to get rid of them now, but you can prevent new ones.

9. Protect your hair

Protect your hair that is soaked with seawater or chlorine from the pool from drying out by hanging your head under tap water for a bit. That’s clean water without weird additives, and your hair really needs that.
