10 reasons why you really should visit Sani Resort once
Yes, we’ve been back for a while now, but here and there a Greek breeze flutters and flutters through my body. The Sani Resort in Chalkidiki has stolen my heart. If you’re looking for a nice place to spend this summer but have no idea where: the Sani Resort is the place to be, and here’s why.
1. You can get there (Greece, that is) in a jiffy. By the way, I find that a very strange saying, but that’s beside the point. Two hours and fifty minutes flying to Thessaloniki. That’s quite different from flying all day towards Asia.
2. Then you are (if you arrange it well, we arranged it well) taken to the resort in a VIP bus in just under an hour. On the way, there’s wifi, which you hardly use because there’s a good chance you’ll be glued to the window: Greece. Is. Beautiful.
3. For those who don’t feel like going on a further discovery journey: you don’t have to. You don’t even have to leave the whole resort if you don’t want to, because the Sani Resort contains five hotels that are connected via the beach and a small harbor with restaurants and shops. Everything is possible, everything is allowed. Nothing is too much to ask.
4. Speaking of eh, those restaurants. There are no less than TWENTY-TWO of them. My favorite? Tomato. In the top 25 best restaurants in the world, and once you taste the grilled octopus, you’ll immediately understand why. From the service to the wine and the ouzo, this is not normally delicious. Applause for chef Karamolegos.
5. If you take enough photos in a few days to ‘stay’ in Greece for the next three weeks, then you know: this is Instagram-worthy. Hey, Palm trees, Everywhere, How you doing.
6. You can secretly swim in the outdoor pool for a full twelve minutes at night without anyone grabbing you. Shhh, you didn’t hear it from me.
7. I think I’ve rarely stood so long with my head under the shower as here. Sorry Lil (my roomie), such delicious rain showers should be banned in hotels (also a shout-out for the nice balcony and the Nespresso machine in the room).
8. Want to go to the harbor? Fine, just hop on the golf cart, a staff member will take you there. Our golf cart boy was quite a good specimen too, and he immediately showed all the spots where you could take the most beautiful Instagram shots. Stop it.
9. The case of ‘expectations versus reality’ is completely true here. The kilometers-long Bousoula beach really looks like in the photos. Quite nice.
10. Oh and, the Gin Mules from the cocktail bar are out of this world. Just saying.
Okay, that’s it. Sani, get ready for a round 2.0. Because it’s not a question of whether we’ll go again, but when...
