20x what you didn't know about Sarah Jessica Parker. Bet?

It has been 20 years since the first Sex and the City aired (a lovely excuse to go through all of Carrie’s loves and shoes once again) and Sarah Jessica is the face of Intimissimi, coincidentally one of my favorite places when it comes to affordable lingerie. Reason to talk about it on Shownieuws. Because of course, all sorts of fun things get cut from the editing table, I’m sharing it with you. Because no matter how much you like her, there are things you probably didn’t know.

1. Annie!

Sarah Jessica Parker was Annie in the Broadway Musical. She initially had a smaller role, but later she was asked for the role of Annie. She played her for a year.

2. She refused a role because of her hair

After Annie, SJP was cast for a role in Footloose, the 80s hit with Kevin Bacon. The question was whether she would cut her hair short and dye it red. Yeah, no thanks, figure it out. She had just let it grow after Annie and short red didn’t exactly suit her, so she refused. When her alternative didn’t turn out so well, they came back to SJP. Or maybe she would still want to come… “What about my hair?” asked Sarah. “That’s totally fine…”

3. John Kennedy Jr.

He was her lover for a while. What a royal couple.

4. 22 minutes workout per day

Nothing more. She doesn’t have the patience for it and with 22 minutes she keeps everything exactly where she wants it.

5. Allergic to cheap shoes

For her role in ‘Did You Hear About The Morgans?’ SJP bought cheap shoes because she didn’t find her character the Jimmy-Choo kind of person. She slipped on the smooth sole and got an injury. “I ruined and tortured my feet. From now on they want either flat shoes or expensive ones.”

6. Ballet background, but…

SJP has danced for years and attended a dance school, but according to herself, she’s not so great at learning choreography. During Footloose, a dance film, the director had a lot of patience with her, which resulted in a close friendship.

7. Sarah Jessica has a book platform

She is a real reader and enjoys using the platform she has to bring new writers to the attention of readers.

8. She never wears socks

Not even at -20. She is small and that bit of skin at her ankles gives her a little more length visually.

9. Robert Downey Jr.

She had a relationship with him for six years, but she couldn’t handle his drug problem anymore. “I thought I could help him, but it didn’t work out.”

10. She comes from a family of eight children.

11. Together with four siblings, she toured for a year for The Sound of Music.

12. Poverty

She grew up in relative poverty. They weren’t hungry, but there weren’t always gifts at Christmas.

13. Unicef

She became a Unicef ambassador in 1997.

14. Four Weddings

Actually, SJP was supposed to play the role of Carrie in ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’, but she was replaced at the last minute by Andie MacDowell. Later came her real Carrie role.

15. Married in black

She found marrying in white a bit silly, but later she said she regretted her black outfit.

16. No nudity

In her SATC contract, it stated that SJP would not do nude scenes. She is the only one of the four actresses you have never seen fully naked.

17. The Sarah shoe

Manolo Blahnik named a shoe after her: the SJP.

18. She and Cynthia

SJP and Cynthia Nixon have known each other since 1982.

19. $$$

In 2004, she signed a contract with GAP for which she would have received 36 million dollars.

Is estimated at 90 million…
