7 top destinations to crash for a month in the fall

Going on vacation in July is zeuuuu 2017. If you're a bit young and flexible in your libi, then take a month off in December or January and head out. Looking forward to an autumn holiday? Here are our favorites.

Bali

If you want to discover the island at its best, a trip to Bali in the autumn or winter is highly recommended. In July and August, it’s incredibly busy, and now you can explore the most beautiful spots on the island in peace. And don’t let the ‘rainy season’ scare you, because in practice, a shower often lasts no longer than half an hour.

Los Angeles

Not a fan of the scorching heat? Then the city of the film industry, roller skates, and the most beautiful palm trees is a top idea in the autumn. But it’s definitely not cold in the winter, with temperatures between 15 and 23 degrees. Rent a little villa on top of the mountain, drive to Santa Monica Beach or Venice Beach with the rental car, and go for it.

Costa Rica

Costa Rica has it all: white palm beaches, volcanic areas, unspoiled nature, a tropical climate, a delicious cuisine, and of course: bizarre wildlife. The country has two seasons: the dry and the green season. The dry season runs from November/December to the end of April. Warm in the autumn? Absolutely. I understand why they call the Costa Ricans the happiest people in the world.

Sri Lanka

You see it popping up more and more on Instagram, and I get why. Sri Lanka is beautiful and can actually be visited all year round due to the pleasant climate. From December to March is the high season, so perfect for a winter trip.

Philippines

Fan of Expedition Robinson? Ha, join the club. The Philippines have been on my list for years for that reason. The rainy season runs in most parts of the country from June to October. The dry and ‘cool’ season runs from December to March.

Cape Town

Seen Models in Cape Town (yes, the successor to Models in Paris)? Man, what a beautiful city. The picturesque neighborhoods, trendy coffee shops, those beaches. Cape Town is the ideal refuge to hide away for the winter. The atmosphere and the people: all equally relaxed.

The ABC islands

Chilling in the Antilles... I can say from personal experience: that’s a top idea. Both Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao are ideal destinations to escape the cold winter weather. And if you’re heading that way: check here all the nice spots of Aruba and here in Curaçao. Let’s go, dushi!
