7 x Why you want to have our fresh Amayzine Issue
For months, weeks, days it only existed in our minds. In our heads, on the laptop and then carefully on callsheets. Suddenly, “she” is here. Is she in stores. In sturdy stacks. And I just know you want to have her and here’s why.
1. The cover
It brings sunshine to Siberia. That cover is just what you need. There is sun, it is soft. It is the first cover of Vivian Hoorn and I find that extra special because she used to photograph Look of the Days for us in the beginning.
And now that I’m talking about Viv, she is a model slash photographer and actually prefers that I say photographer slash model and the beautiful stills from Cape Town where she is temporarily staying, are her work. And oh yes, of course she gives her Cape Town tips and tells how she ended up there. And there was quite a sad story behind it. But it turned out well. With career and dating and so on. Anyway. Just read.
2. To honor these friendships
I thought it would be so beautiful to portray six women who honor their friendship. Our Carolien Spoor and Marly, but also Jetteke van Lexmond and Lucy Woesthoff. I couldn’t keep it dry during that last interview. And those photos… oh la la so beautiful.
3. The shows
An overview of all the defining shows of this spring/summer. And it’s wonderfully designed by our Nikita (under the inspiring supervision of art director Sjoukje). Normally such a runway overview costs quickly 20 euros but with us you get a great magazine plus all the shows for a meager 6 euros. You wouldn’t even get an Uber for that. And you can’t buy a juice at the Juice Brothers with it either. So it’s a bargain.
4. The Moscow girls
Do you remember that we went to Moscow with Maan, Sigrid ten Napel, Claire Cliteur, Vivian Hoorn (there she is again), Lizzy van der Ligt, Renate Verbaan, Kim Feenstra, Sophie May and of course we shot a report there. And actually the motto was; what happens in Moscow, stays in Moscow’ but for you we make an exception so there is a backstage report. Including compromising karaoke club photos.
5. Beautifiers
So you know which makeup you can wear on the beach, which scents you want to have and street style to quench your look. Oh yes, and the sunglasses with fingers from Dolce & Gabbana. You just have to see those.
6. Your coffee table
She does incredibly well on that. But really incredibly.
7. And further
I am in love with the paper. And with the advertisements. Chanel, Marc Cain, IWC, Renault, Denham, Lancaster and Chloé. Just to name a few. That such beautiful brands support your plan. That means a lot to me. And take a look at the back. I’ll tell you more about what you see there later.
So when you’re standing at that crazily cold station, walk to the AKO and take it with you. I’m sure you’ll feel a few degrees warmer immediately.
