8 things we have learned from Flying Friends
So flying friends, how was your weekend? Half of team Amayzine was recovering yesterday. Amstel threw a party: the Flying Friends festival. 3 locations, 20 artists, dozens of helicopters: Of course, we had to be there. A brief summary of our Saturday in eight points. Here it comes.
1. Pascal from Bløf remains the best singer ever
Every time I hear that guy's voice live, I get goosebumps. With the highlight being ‘Omarm me’ with Ronnie Flex.
2. We no longer have to go to LA for Coachella
We had that giant Ferris wheel selfie in the bag right away, no biggie.
3. You don't have to worry about your dinner
It felt like a freaking food truck festival. Indonesian satay pork, pita with falafel, pizza slices, pancakes, special fries, kibbeling, waffles, and even a vegan (!) snack bar. Hats off.
4. The song ‘In your arms’ is by Chef’Special
Okay, at this point we were pretty embarrassed.
‘From the day that I met you I stopped feeling afraid
In your arms I feel safe
In your arms I feel safe’
The best dude is Dutch. HOW?!
5. White sneakers are a bad idea
I repeat: Kiek, not a good idea. Fool.
6. Fedde Le Grand is the shit
We immediately dubbed him ‘Fedde de la Grandé’ after four wines and three Flügels (yes really). What a boss.
7. Make sure to grab extra Flügel before Van Velzen and Jeroen van Koningsbrugge sing ‘Mexico’ including sombrero
Mexicooo. Meeheeeexiiccooooohoooo! Crying from laughter.
8. Toilet paper doesn't always have to be out at a festival
Attention to almost all festivals in the world: are you reading along?
So, if you've always doubted going to Amstel Live do it: for a few tens of euros you get concerts from the best artists in the Netherlands with something for everyone. Damn, Amstel, you know how to throw a party. We are fans.
