A touch of Aruba at the office
This is how you make the tropical mango smoothies
Hey, with Aruba still fresh in our minds, Lil and I are back at the office. What do we already miss? The pristine white beaches, the sweetest people, but above all: the mango smoothies. I'm not joking. They are a staple on the island. Since we can't magically bring the beach (and the flamingos) here, it was time for plan B: the smoothies. Look, that we can do.
Is it difficult? Not at all. It only takes you five minutes. Does it instantly make you happy on a sweaty day? Absolutely. So I head into the kitchen for some tropical smoothies. Thanks to Philips for the High Speed vacuum blender (seriously, your smoothies stay fresh ALL day) and the Antilles for the inspiration. Want to make your colleagues happy at the office? This is what you need.
Ingredients for 2 smoothies
- 1 ripe mango
- 150 g low-fat yogurt, from the fridge
- 300 ml semi-skimmed milk, from the fridge
- 1 teaspoon of honey (or more, if you want it sweeter)
- 5 ice cubes
- 2 candied cherries
- the High Speed vacuum blender from Philips
How do you make it?
- Peel the mango and cut the flesh away from the pit. Chop the mango into large pieces and put them in the High Speed vacuum blender.
- Pour in the yogurt and milk and keep blending until you have a nice, frothy mixture. Sweeten the smoothie with honey to taste.
- Pour into 2 large glasses and top it off with the candied cherries. A mint leaf also adds a nice touch.
Serve it immediately? Ha. You don't even have to, because thanks to the Stay Fresh vacuum technology, your smoothie stays as fresh all day as it was when you made it. Without turning brown, discoloring, or separating. And no worries: your vitamins also remain intact because of this. Other blenders could learn a thing or two from this. Not a mango fan? Check out these three smoothie recipes that can also be made in the blender and that are healthy too.
Enjoy your drink, dushi!
