Asparagus tempura
From our friends at Favor Flav this week the most delicious Tempura dish with asparagus straight from the Philips Airfryer. A change from those crispy shrimp right?
Perhaps you saw in our livestream that FavorFlav recently received high-profile visitors, none other than Martin Senders, a.k.a. The Philips Chef. He showed us what you can do with the Philips Airfryer. For example, try making this ultimate crispy tempura of green asparagus.
Ingredients:
300 grams tempura flour (Asian store)
Sparkling Spring Water
200 grams panko
250 grams green asparagus
250 grams white asparagus (peeled)
For the dipping sauce
3 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp white sesame seeds
1 tbsp teriyaki sauce
1 tsp sweet and sour chili sauce
Preparation
- Make the tempura batter by mixing the tempura flour with the spring water. Ensure that the batter is thicker than normal tempura batter.
- Spread panko over a flat plate. Roll the asparagus in the batter and then in the panko.
- For the dipping sauce, mix all the ingredients and whisk everything well together.
- Preheat the Airfryer for about 3 minutes at 200°C. Lower the temperature to 190°C and fry the asparagus for about 8 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Serve with soy sauce and chili sauce.
