Brilliant: Crumb gets a sequel after 20 years
Do we still know him, that little mischievous street rat played by Ruud Feltkamp? Well, Kruimeltje is back. Film producer Rick Engelkes (who played Kruimeltje's father in the first film) is coming out with a sequel to the hit film from 1999 after twenty years.
In the new film, we see the ‘new life’ of Kruimeltje. His parents are back together, he no longer lives on the street, and due to the discovery of a gold mine in America (all very believable but so be it, we forgive them), the family is suddenly filthy rich. They leave the city and buy a huge mansion, where little Kruimel naturally gets terribly bored, which leads to complete chaos. Suddenly, I think of those awful commercials from Telfort. Who would have thought: from mischief on the street to tailored clothing!
We still have to be a little patient, by the way. The filming for Kruimeltje II is scheduled for early next year, and around February 2020 we can check it out in the cinema . Oh, and if you happen to have a brilliant little brother/neighborhood boy/son with acting skills and the looks of Kruimeltje: the search is in full swing. Children who want a chance at a role in the film can sign up with Jut & Jul Casting agency.
