brunching at its best
It's not new in Amsterdam, but something that I have kind of rediscovered. On the very last day of the previous year, we decided that before we had to make our whole house party ready, we would have an extensive brunch together. A good base, so to speak, just before the champagne and Dark ‘n’ Stormy’s would flow abundantly. And do you want to know where you can absolutely do that best if you live in our capital? At Staring at Jacob on the Jacob van Lennepkade.
Bloody Mary’s, waffles, fried chicken and Eggs Benedict was the damage. Something about indecisiveness, so why not order multiple dishes? With an incredibly large food baby as a result, yes, but it was absolutely worth it and my only good resolution this year (I never really make them): schedule more brunch dates with friends. And also regularly go to Staring at Jacob. The best.
