‘it IS time for a new spot’
Another one we can check off: Otis’ first birthday party is a fact. Thanks to the summer weather our rooftop terrace felt like a small holiday resort, complete with animal garlands, a tip tent, tiger plates, and snake cups. And while the adults enjoyed a glass of bubbles, all the kids ran around with animal masks, in one hand a sugar-free muffin with a crocodile pick and in the other hand a snake horn. Well, you host an animal-themed party or you don't. With a small note from my husband, who seriously wonders what his second birthday will look like. We will see.
If there’s ever a collab with Disney characters, I’m there in a flash. Now with Otis, I finally have a legitimate excuse, although it’s usually not his size that comes home. When I heard that TOMS is going to design a shoe collection around Disney characters, I kept a close eye on their site. Between 1930 and 1959, a group of young women who worked behind the scenes for Disney created beautiful animation sketches that were used for inspiration. Now there are beautiful Disney princesses on my ‘slippers’ and with this collection, they hope to encourage girls and women to chase their dreams. May all your wishes come true…
This week, Otis and I are traveling to France to enjoy for him the first and for me the last time the beautiful house of my godmother. I came here every summer as a child and now that it’s sold, these trips will soon become a beautiful memory. Fortunately, Otis can experience the lovely forest scents, the sound of the crickets, and the beautiful garden once, so he knows what place we are talking about when we long for it again. And then it is time for a new spot to make new memories.
For such a nice trip, I obviously need some new swimwear and that was quite a task. After my pregnancy, I have been quite stuck in the swimsuit vibe and my new search for a nice piece has been going on for a while. Until I came across this nice piece from Tweka and immediately felt like having a little retro shoot by the pool. Plus a nice bonus: everything stays in place when I’m running around wildly with Otis.
