Bring on that drink at the end of the afternoon!
On Monday, I started the week off right: together with my friend Kiki, I traveled to SpaSereen for an ultimate day of relaxation. When we walked into the beautiful complex, I honestly couldn't understand why we don't do such an outing monthly: we immediately let go of all stress and walked completely relaxed from sauna to steam room to restaurant, taking a little nap on the waterbeds and back to the sauna. To conclude our MaDiWoDo arrangement, we received a wonderful facial with Guinot products and afterwards we were literally floating. It took the entire drive back before we were a bit grounded again. A new spa date is quickly being planned for next month.
As if the week hadn't started festively enough, a very special dinner was planned for Tuesday evening. Now, it is tradition that the woman receives ‘baargoud’ from her husband after giving birth, and you understand that I didn't need to be told this twice. I honestly can't wish for a better father than Jon, so I felt that he has just as much right to this tradition as I do. In restaurant Pesca (highly recommended!) where we were enjoying fresh oysters, prawns, and sea bass, the coveted boxes appeared on the table. Around Jon's neck now hangs a beautiful gold chain with his family crest and this dream watch will never leave my wrist.
Now that the first summery week is a fact, I can't wait to officially inaugurate our rooftop terrace. The shaded roof is up, there are enough blankets for all the babies in the area to play on: bring on that drink at the end of the afternoon! And then Otis woke up with a high fever. No matter how busy your day is with important appointments, if your child is sick, you cancel everything with the push of a button. So I've been inside all day, with a glowing ember on my chest, staring at that shining sun outside... Oh, hopefully there are still plenty of days like this ahead.
Also for everyone who doesn't like going to the theater: pay attention! A must-see this season is undoubtedly ‘Showponies’ by Alex Klaassen, a fantastic revue with too many hilarious moments to mention. From choir boys who glorify the pastor with an R&B song to a fantastic sketch about a ‘lightly’ latent Flemish prince who has to kiss Snow White awake and who secretly turns out to have been born a man. And at the end, Alex shows and tells why he rightfully deserves to be called a virtuoso artist. Go see it, dear people!
