The ground sank beneath her

It all sounded so nice: a lovely day and night in Antwerp with girlfriends and the next day to a beautiful spa in Belgium. It also started as a top evening with dinner at restaurant Graanmarkt 13 (the shop above is also a recommendation). Then we enjoyed delicious gin and tonics in a jazz café, when in five minutes my beautiful Chanel bag with its entire contents was stolen... At first, you just can't believe it, but once it sinks in a bit, you really feel the ground slipping away beneath you. Besides the fact that I will never get the value of the bag and its contents back, I also felt anxious at the thought of arranging new keys, cards, and other documents. Fortunately, I was able to relativize everything quite quickly and realized that it's just material. The most important and happiest thing was waiting for me at home in the form of two men ready to give me a big hug!

Now Jon and I like to flee the country on King's Day, but the first King's Day with Otis had to be celebrated in our own country, of course. We had grand plans for a rooftop barbecue party, but since the temperature had dropped by ten degrees, we parked that idea for a while... A stroll through the Jordaan with a baby carrier was much more fun. He was wide-eyed, but all the passersby were perhaps even more so. If I had asked a euro for every time someone wanted to touch Otis, I would have earned back my stolen bag by now!

Otis has now hit ten months and although he is still nice and small, he is growing like a weed. There are already two bags filled with items ready for girlfriends who are expecting. In search of some nice summer items in a larger size, I stumbled upon these cozy H&M T-shirts made of organic cotton with quotes about love and peace from, among others, Gandhi. A portion of the proceeds also goes to Unicef. Bring on those summer days!

On Sunday, I was a guest on the game show ‘The Boys Against the Girls’ and to be honest, I was sitting with clenched cheeks in front of the TV. I am incredibly competitive with games and that is, especially for bystanders, quite hilarious. I formed a team with Famke Louise and Olcay Gulsen and despite knowing a lot and giving our all during the game rounds (read: completely covered in paint, brownie baking powder, and milk), the boys won. I really tried my best to hide my disappointment, but if you look closely, you can clearly see my determined face at the end.
