and she is getting a bit ahead of herself
Although the transition from 31 to 7 degrees is quite drastic, we secretly also find it a joy to be home. Spring is in the air and that gives people courage: soon we will be cycling with bare legs through Vondelpark! Okay, maybe I'm getting a bit ahead of myself and I understand that another cold front is coming our way, but the thought of facing our first summer in Amsterdam with Otis makes me incredibly happy. And slowly I'm starting to feel excited about all those lovely spring and summer colors, and the first spring/summer outfits are already waiting in my closet. So bring on the spring!
Some brands just make you spontaneously overjoyed at the sight of their packaging. As a child, I dreamed of one day being able to buy such a beautiful orange box, with contents, from Hermès. Now I still have to save for decades for that highly coveted contents in the form of a bag, but in the meantime, there are a few beautiful orange boxes in the bathroom filled with their lovely perfumes. And now that the new Hermessence collection has been launched, it's of course the perfect opportunity to expand my collection. The scents refer to the long history of Hermès, and raw materials like musk and cedar form the basis. I couldn't wait to try all five and immediately found my new favorite: Cardamusc. So there's another new orange box to be found in my bathroom...
Still a bit wobbly from the jet lag, I was already back in the rehearsal room for our show Female Rappers. March 25 is the premiere and there are still quite a few mountains to move... But the new music video has turned out really great! That launch on Spotify is becoming more and more of a reality if you ask me. This week we are in the Supperclub to rehearse in the hall with projectors, lights, and sound. Now that the picture is becoming more complete, I dare to say that it’s going to be really awesome. You can still buy tickets for March 25 and April 1 in Supperclub Amsterdam via this link. See you there!
Every time I try to read a lot during the vacation, but with that little guy around, I'm just happy if I can finish the foreword... But this time I actually managed to read one entire book during his naps. And what a book... This time no fiction, but the ‘self-help book’ called “The Four Hour Workweek”. What is it about? Waiting until you can retire and have saved enough to realize all your dreams is outdated. The book advocates taking ‘mini-retirements’ throughout your life and not waiting to chase your dreams. They suggest making a budget for your dreams, so you find out that you absolutely don't need to be a millionaire for many things. And the key is: outsourcing, so you have more quality time left with friends and family. Really a must-read!
