Holy little stick

‘Siem, what is this again? Just because I bought a house doesn’t mean I have to bite on a stick…’ The reaction of my girlfriend who was standing there with her brand new house key in her hand. The umpteenth person in my circle who has bought a house. The little gift I brought to her has now become a tradition. Not Mr. Clean or a bottle of bleach (hello OCD), but a piece of wood to freshen things up. Holy wood to be precise. Yes, it exists. Call me crazy, but I love participating in this ancient South American tradition. Burning Palo Santo is used to drive away negative energy from your home, so it’s ideal when you find yourself in a strange new house with your familiar belongings. Additionally, the scent is calming.
