Embarrassing Insta-pics that we are now quite ashamed of

Scroll all the way down on your Instagram for a laugh once again.

I seriously lose it at half of the photos. Even with some photos that are only two/three years old. What is this weird pose? What was I wearing? Why. That. Flower. In. My. Hair?!

I am intensely surprised that a person can change so much in just a few years. In fact: in three years you will probably almost pee your pants looking at the photos you took this week. Instead of always just focusing on the here and the amazing now, I thought it would be fun to take a trip down memory lane to the embarrassing (at the time extremely professional) selfies of your editors. And yes, they can still be found on Instagram. No shame. Okay, maybe a little.

Lilian (@lilianbrijl)

“Let’s first talk about that selfie. Why, really: why? And does that forehead stop anywhere or did you cut it off on purpose at that hairline? And what did you actually think of that semi-red color? Hmmm, I must say my eyebrows were on point.”

Simone (@simoneoliviagregory)

“How could I ever think that your full head of hair looks très natural when there’s a meter-long thick mat sewn under your own thin strands? Which, by the way, itched like crazy. Besides, we need to seriously talk about the blurriness of this photo, that almost painful smile, and the mirror pose. I also found the yellow light in the hallway very intriguing back then.”

Kiki (@kikiduren)

“Aiiii, where do we start? Is it the oh so trendy nerd glasses, the just a bit too pink lips, the Aztec print, or that glued Action flower on the wall? Tough, tough. I think I’ll go for the flower. Although the awkward little fist on the left doesn’t really help the whole picture either.”

May-Britt (@maybrittmobach)

“I think I had bubbles in my mouth which makes it look like I have quite a sprayed mug. Not true, but mixed with the headscarf, the glasses, and the full lip, I still find it a selfie I’d like to forget. Ouch.”
