Everything from Ikea that is going on our wishlist now

Hello from Sweden, live from the headquarters of IKEA, where I am typing a piece next to the designers we usually only see in the catalog. Amayzine was allowed to come along to already touch and sniff the new collection. What do you do then? Take the plane and rush to Älmhult. Right: the birthplace of.

Meanwhile, I am spying on every man who could be Virgil Abloh, you know: the founder and designer of Off-White and soon the Men’s Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton. He is now flying towards Älmhult to be here as well. The Markerad collection he is creating with Ikea is cool, has his signature, and it's just that I am traveling with hand luggage, otherwise I would smuggle everything home.

Want-it-have-it-from-Markerad: the chair with red doorstop, the mirror, the rug, the receipt a.k.a. art on the wall AND the bag. All nice, Balenciaga, but this bag is an original from the hand of Virgil AND Ikea.

The skull by designer Per B (the man is big in Sweden), because it is just so un-Ikea-like that you want to have it, just like the poodle where your candles will make it a lot more interesting and the blanket in beautifully terra.

The collection for which I want to buy a little house to fit all this in is Tänkvärd. On an au naturel basis with the finest rattan chairs to lounge in. Just a blanket over the shoulders in some blue of perfection or happily wandering in a (that I would ever type this word) peignoir. It's too much to go for a bathrobe, admit it.

But come on, the perfectly curved bench from Överallt, the party-on-collection from Frekvens, the bag from Förnyard, and the lamp from Rumtid (with inspiration from Mars, Swedish isn't that hard actually) can also come home.

Print out, check off, just wonderfully in its catalog-like style and go to Ikea. Part of this beauty will be in stores from September, the rest will follow in 2019, but it's worth every minute of waiting.
