Women in this province have the largest breasts in the Netherlands
I can really shop online for something every day if I feel like it: pants, shirts, dresses, shoes, bags… I love everything that costs money. But bras? Never.
I really hate them. They never fit, either too tight or too loose, too big or too small, too thick or too thin. I don’t want huge cushions, but also not those little nets that sadly flutter loosely around the nipples. That’s fashion, such an unfilled soft lace net. Even floppier than a bikini. What a hassle. Sometimes I finally come across something that fits halfway, and then I think: yeah, no thanks, for this 50 euros I’d rather buy something that others actually see’. I couldn’t care less.
So it happens that I only have three bras that I like to wear. They have to last for years. They can obediently go in the wash one after the other and I don’t care at all if they are discolored. I wear heels, I have my eyebrows neatly dyed, and in my hair there are usually more highlights than you can see my own color. When it comes to lingerie, I’m really not a woman-woman. In bed, I wear pajamas and so my partner never sees that underwear either. And since I’m the only one who sees it, I don’t want to spend any money on it. Unfortunately. The world of matching sets is a world I barely know. Only know from a distant, single past.
Now research shows that women in Overijssel really do believe in the right bras. Because there live women with the largest average cup size in the whole of the Netherlands. That sounds strange, but it’s actually quite logical: large breasts often run in the family. Families often live close to each other. Just add it up, and it’s not so strange that spotting melons in Overijssel is common. The smallest breasts are found in Zeeland: there, bras in size A are most often sold out.
Okay, now that I’m writing this, I feel somewhat… clumsy. I may be already married, but it’s about time to surprise my man after so many years with a charming red set. Whether it fits well or not: it has to be. Although I will secretly always miss my mega pajama shirt.
